Singapore, Science, and Angewandte

Singapore will host the Angewandte Colloquium in December. In particular, the focus will be on the nation‘s lead public sector R&D agency: A*STAR.

One of the leading national research organizations of Singapore is the “Agency for Science, Technology and Research (A*STAR)”, with its mission to “advance science and develop innovative technology to further economic growth and improve lives”. As such, its over 6000 staff, whereof more than 4700 researchers, engineers, and technicians, place great emphasis on creating new knowledge and technologies and their translation into commercial application. Through open innovation, A*STAR seeks to integrate the relevant capabilities of its 17 research institutes and collaborate with the wider research community, other public sector agencies as well as industry towards meaningful and impactful outcomes.
