Interdisciplinary young scientist workshop in Amman, Jordan

For the twelfth time, an interdisciplinary workshop on science communication took place last September, supported by the GDCh. Fifteen young Arab researchers from diverse scientific backgrounds met for this purpose in Amman, Jordan.

The interdisciplinary workshop series on science communication takes place every year in an Arab country and aims to close the gap between different natural sciences for young scientists from the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region [Nachr. Chem. 2023, 71(12), 85 and ibid. 2024, 72(4), 24]. The GDCh has supported the workshops since 2009, and they take place shortly before international conferences where workshop participants subsequently give presentations—this time at the Humboldt Kolleg Sustainable Science Development: Transforming Industries and Society.

The 15 participants presented their work each for about 10 minutes which was then discussed slide by slide up to one hour. They usually incorporated minor revision suggestions from the audience into their subsequent contributions at the following Humboldt Kolleg.
