Symposium oder Konferenz (Präsenzveranstaltung)
(c) Prof. Matthias Gehringer
The Tübingen Center for Academic Drug Discovery (TüCAD2), founded 2012, is part of the University’s excellence strategy. TüCAD2 is closely connected to the Excellence Cluster iFIT, ICEPHA (Interfaculty Center for Pharmacogenomics) and to NCT-SW (Nationales Zentrum für Tumorerkrankungen-SüdWest) and focus on pharmacological validation of genetically identified targets. The strong translational focus brought four compounds until now “first into human”.
An essential part of TüCAD2 is a teaching concept, in which both a med chem curriculum and a MedChemCampus play a major part. After the successful first MedChemCampus 2023 in Tübingen, we will continue with a second MedChemCampus 2025 with case studies, presented by eminent drug discovery experts from both industry and academia.
Topics: Case studies dealing with challenges in drug discovery
e.g. pharmacokinetics, structural biology, lead optimization, safety, selectivity, brain-penetrance, resistance, macrocycles
Target Audience:
- Young professionals in drug discovery & medicinal chemistry (academia and industry)
- PostDocs and graduate students in medicinal chemistry
The MedChemCampus2025 is an „EFMC Certified School“ by the European Federation for Medicinal Chemistry.
