Photoelectrochemical Reactive Oxygen Species Generation for Organic Conversion

Von Wiley-VCH zur Verfügung gestellt

Photoelectrochemical (PEC) cells, which integrate the advantages of electrochemistry and photochemistry, are making a great contribution to the synthesis of high-value-added chemicals and biomass reforming. However, oxidation of organic substrates by directly capturing photo-generated holes at solid/liquid interface faces the challenge of inefficient mass transfer and low selectivity. Recently, reactive oxygen species (ROSs) mediated PEC organic conversion has attracted much attention due to its high selectivity, homogeneousness and controllability. This concept article will focus on the connotation and representative applications of PEC organic conversion mediated by ROSs, and put forward perspectives and outlooks of ROSs generation.
