The Front Cover shows the fluorescence of an indolizine derivative (ethyl 3-(2-morpholino-2-oxoethyl)indolizine-1-carboxylate) obtained through a sequential PdI2/KI-catalyzed oxidative aminocarbonylation-heterocyclization approach from ethyl 2-(pyridin-2-yl)pent-4-ynoate. The compound absorbs in the UV and emits in the blue region with a high photoluminescence quantum yield in solution as well as in solid matrix.
