Copper/ Photoredox dual Catalyzed Syntheses of Allenenitriles via 1,5‐HAT

The first example of merging photoredox catalysis and copper catalysis for 1,4-difunctionalization of 1,3-enynes via 1,5-HAT (hydrogen atom transfer) has been developed. The synthetic strategy exploits a radical translocation from an oxygen-centered to a carbon-centered radical with a subsequent radical addition to the 1,3-enynes, affording tetrasubstituted allenenitriles in up to 90% yield. This strategy has mild reaction conditions, broad substrate scope and excellent functional group tolerance.
