Cover Feature: Aggregation Behavior of Cyclodextrin‐Based [3]Rotaxanes (Chem. Eur. J. 50/2023)

Cyclodextrin (CD)-based [3]rotaxane formed aggregation structures under the appropriate conditions, as was clearly observed for the first time. Detailed study of this phenomenon revealed that [3]rotaxane aggregated with hexagonal packing owing to hydrogen bond formation among CD units, in a manner similar to polyrotaxane species. This aggregation could be controlled by solvent type upon dispersion, through the axle end structures, and by modification of CD. More information can be found in the Research Article by Y.
